Assessment Strategies for the 21st Century Learning: In a series of 3 workshops we will examine best assessment practices and then construct and pilot assessment strategies. The sessions will focus on assessments that promote deep learning for students, produce resources of good practice for one another, and employ technology to facilitate our work. All sessions will be on the first Friday of the month from 12noon till 1:30 in Suite 540, Park Place South.

Friday, September 6th, “Is this on the test?” In this session we will share techniques for writing multiple choice questions that promote higher levels of learning, including a brief review of research on good practices for MCQs
Friday, October 4th, “Using assessments that make learning last?” In this session we’ll share how we assess complex learning by using performance assessment strategies.
Friday, November 1st, “What can we learn from our students”? For our final session we’ll examine how to uses our assessment strategies to inform our teaching and drive our efforts in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
