Course Content and eText Creation
eLearning Content Construction
Developing engaging eLearning content is key to helping students meet learning outcomes in not only online courses but also hybrid and face-to-face settings. Slide decks, voiceover PowerPoints, screen captures, Khan Academy-style videos, interactive media and simulations, podcasts, short video clips, longer documentary-style shoots, games, and other media-rich learning objects can all help students engage deeply with content online. Each semester, the CII delivers seminars aimed at helping faculty match instructional approaches with pedagogical aims and training workshops that target a variety of related eLearning media construction technologies and skills. The CII also offers one-on-one instructional design consulting and technical support for faculty work to rethink and transform their teaching.
Converting Course Content to Online
CII’s instructional designers are ready to help faculty take advantage of the affordances of learning technologies in ways that can transform teaching and deepen student engagement inside and outside of classrooms. Whether it’s dabbling in Desire2Learn, hybridizing classes, or moving to fully online teaching, the CII can offer the pedagogical consulting and technical support faculty need to make their courses memorable.
eTexts offer faculty opportunities to integrate multimedia into class materials and distribute content to students in cost-effective, mobile-friendly, and highly customizable ways. The CII’s team of instructional designers can offer “best practices” as well as technical support as faculty develop eTexts for their courses, projects, or organizations.
